Automatic Spiral Punching Machine

Abstract

The main objective of the automatic spiral punching machine project is to control a spiral punching machine automatically. The Controlling unit, Sensors, Gears and Motor setup, driver section and relay section are the main parts of this project. This project is easy to use and works efficiently.

When the user inserts the paper, the sensor will sense the paper and it will send the signal to the controlling section. The controlling section will receive and analyse the signal. According to the received signal, it will operate the motor. The motor contains inbuilt gear setup. This gear setup is used to increase the power and to reduce the speed.

The punching section contains punching rods connected with a moving frame. According to the operation of the motor, the moving frame will move up and down. The motor will operate the punching section. The papers are punched in the punching section.

This punching machine will minimize the manual work. The operations of punching machine are very accurate. In this project, PIC16F73 micro controller is used to control the entire operation. PIC16F73 is a 28 pin Micro controller. The micro controller program is written in assembly language.

 

WORKING PRINCIPLE

When the user inserts the paper into punching machine, the sensor will sense the paper. Then, it sends signal to the microcontroller. The microcontroller will operate a motor in one direction. The motor will drive the driver gear to move the punching machine in downward direction. Later, the microcontroller will operate the motor in opposite direction to move the punching machine in upward direction.

 

BENEFITS

The punching machine is operated automatically. Hence, it requires less man power.

We can use this machine for the large-scale production.

This machine will consume less time. Because, it runs more faster than the manual setup.
