Multi User Chat System

Abstract

In the existing system, the user can chat with friends in the particular room through internet. By using Multi User Chat System, the user can chat with his friends in the network area (LAN) via intranet mailing. We can use this system in any operating system. Multi User Chat System is very user-friendly and easy to use.

By using applets, Multi User Chat System provides the standard interface between the applet and the browser environment. It uses swings to create the buttons, list controls, table controls, labels and tree controls. By using Abstract Window Tool kit (AWT), this system will design the applications like creating scrollbars, button layouts.

A network socket and a electrical socket are same. The different plugs around the network deliver their pay load in a standard way. Anything that understands the standard protocol can plug in to the socket and can communicate with each other. In socket programming, the server socket and client socket methods are used to connect the local host to the named host and port. By using Server socket class, we can create the servers that listen for either local or remote client programs to connect them on the published ports.

Proposed System

In the past, a person can communicate with other persons only through letters or through telephones. But these communication methods are very costly and they take more time to create communication between peoples. But during emergency, these methods are not useful. So we developed multi user chat system. By using this system, the people can chat with their friends in the Local Area Network (LAN) through intranet mailing.
